POV: Thomas Pulley
Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, might make you think of Cajun cooking, hurricanes, or rich history. While all these aspects are associated with this area, like all cities, the people who live in Lafayette Parish must contend with things of everyday life.
As an area often in the news dealing with natural disasters, the city recently received a small upgrade that will make a world of difference when responding to local emergencies that arise from day-to-day or the statewide emergencies that require significant agency collaboration. Christie, in partnership with an AV integrator, installed a new state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Center (EOC), which allows the county to provide better and more unified coverage during emergencies. The system also allows for instant communication with disaster relief organizations such as FEMA, featuring Christie products with built in fail-safes to keep communication reliable and flowing.
The system features 60 Christie Extreme Series 55-inch LCD panels, a Christie Phoenix processor, and a Christie Phoenix Quad-T for additional 4K inputs. Throughout the facility these devices are used to create multiple video walls and create a cohesive team effort to save lives and enrich their community.
